Oleg Kozhemyako, Primorye Governor, met with Mikhail Fradkov, Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, on Thursday, September 10, at the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. During the meeting the parties agreed to cooperate.
The meeting was also attended by Nataliya Bondarenko, Education Minister of Primorye region, Nikita Anisimov, Far Eastern Federal University rector, and other participants.
The Head of the Primorye region pointed out that he had long been familiar with the RISS Director, so he was confident that the cooperation would remain fruitful and looked forward to the further deepening of that relationship.
"Developing cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, where 50% of the gross world product is concentrated and half of the world's population lives, is a very important challenge for Primorye. We are talking about huge opportunities for importing and exporting goods that are manufactured in our country and pass through the region to other countries," the Primorye Governor said.
The RISS Director draw attention to the fact that Primorye and the Far Eastern Federal University was a unique site for implementing major projects, both domestic and international. "Both sides are interested in finding creative and successful solutions to the challenges we face. We will work on them with the help of experts, scientists, and analysts from Moscow and Primorye region. We are also planning to involve young people that are our gold reserves," M.Fradkov said.
