Mr. Maslov shared his vision of the history of development of the research school of Russian oriental studies and the peculiarities of the current stage of its development, reported on the priority areas of current research activities and prospects for the institute's operation, including the preparation of monographs and publications. He also gave his assessment of the effectiveness of cooperation of the institute with foreign research institutions.
Exchange of views on the new trends in the development of international political and economic relations, including in the Greater Eurasia space, as well as on the prospects for implementation of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Greater Eurasian space took place at the meeting.
The possibility of holding joint round tables on topical problems of interaction between the Russian Federation and the countries of South and Southwest Asia in a dynamically changing world was discussed during the conversation.
Following the meeting, Mr. Fradkov and Mr. Maslov agreed to continue fruitful cooperation between RISS and the Institute of Far Eastern Studies.
