RISS Director took part in the international Belt and Road Conference

RISS Director Mikhail Fradkov as an observer of the Advisory Council of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation took part in the high-level conference on interaction in the Asia-Pacific region on 23th June

The forum was attended by the representatives of more than 30 countries of the region: foreign ministers, as well as delegates of the United Nations, the Eurasian Economic Commission and other international and regional organisations. The conference was held in an online format under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Mr. Wang Yi.

The speeches of the foreign ministers concerned primarily the issues of cooperation to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, restore and ensure the growth of trade and economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

In his address to the conference participants, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted a significant progress in combining the development plans of the EAEU and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, which creates a basis for interaction on a wide range of issues.
