In his video message to the participants of the international conference in Tashkent „Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities“ RISS Director Mikhail Fradkov emphasized the need to ensure the peace and stability in the region. The conference was organized within the framework of the Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's initiative to strengthen regional connectivity in the context of the dynamic foreign policy strategy of Tashkent.
Mr. Fradkov stressed the need to search for optimal forms of coordination for the prosperity of all regional states through coupling the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Belt and Road initiative, and the formation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership. RISS Director also emphasized the importance of ensuring the intra-Afghan dialogue in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with a view to achieving sustainable development in Central and South Asia.
According to Mr. Fradkov, the conference can become an effective platform for new initiatives and practical steps to deepen cooperation between Russia and the countries of Central and South Asia.
