RISS Director M.E. Fradkov took part in a regular Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Advisory Committee meeting. The event was held via video link on December 17th.
During the meeting, the participants emphasized the need to advance connectivity between the Chinese initiative and other international integration projects and promote national economic programs given regional and global interests.
Particular attention was paid to the COVID-19 pandemic and its negative impact on the socio-economic situation in the world.
In his speech, Mikhail Fradkov noted that Russia and China have bright prospects to develop together integration processes, which have been gaining momentum in recent years.
RISS Director also mentioned the conjugation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Belt and Road initiative as an illustrative example of integration interaction, which will receive fresh impetus in its development under new international conditions.
Speaking about the difficulties of interaction today, when virtual communication prevails, Mikhail Fradkov drew attention to the need to intensify cooperation between scientific, research, and analytical centers and public organizations.
In conclusion, RISS Director expressed his confidence that it is necessary to develop cooperation on the basis of strengthening respect for the interests of all the participants, pooling forces and resources to jointly overcome economic, epidemiological, and other difficulties and successfully achieve the 2030 Agenda.
