RISS Discussed Cooperation and Security Issues in the Indian and Pacific Oceans

The Russian Institute of Strategic Studies hosted a round table on the «Prospects for overcoming confrontation and forming a unified system of cooperation and security in the Indian and Pacific Oceans» on March 24th. The event gathered RISS profile experts.

During the discussion, the latest developments in the region were considered, in particluar the implementation of new and promising trade and economic projects and ensuring the stability of supply chains. In this regard, the participants noted the counterproductiveness of the US attempts to actively promote its own security initiatives, which in fact only increase potential for conflict in the Asia-Pacific region.
