The House Intelligence Committee held public hearings with key impeachment investigation witnesses. The House Judiciary Committee will be also conducting an inquiry into whether Trump should be impeached. Formally impeachment process will begin only when the House Judiciary Committee gets all the necessary documents.
"The only option for the Democrats to start the impeachment process is to win the presidency and both houses of Congress in 2020 (at the same time, Trump must also win the next presidential race). Democrats have to get the two-thirds majority needed to override President Trump’s veto. Now it is an impossible goal for them. The main purpose of the Democrats is not to impeach the president, but to get him not re-elected. This is the core of Democrats' election campaign," RISS expert concluded.
