RISS expert at the international conference in Bryansk

International scientific-practical conference "Traditions and innovations in state and municipal management: people and government – the new reality" was held in Bryansk on 17-18 November.

It was organized by the Bryansk Regional Duma, the regional government, the local branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, Bryansk regional branch of the All-Russian public-state educational organization «Russian society "Knowledge"», the regional Department of Russian Political Science Association.

Meeting participants made presentations on a wide range of issues related to national policy, international cultural relations, the specificity of relations between state and society, human resource development, improvement the quality of life of the population.

Senior research fellow of Centre for Economic Research A. Todorov participated in the conference with a presentation about the relationship between Russia and the European Court of Human Rights.

RISS expert noted problematic issues of interaction between the ECHR and our state. In particular, human rights protection often becomes a tool of manipulation and resolving political issues. In addition, the activity of the European Court reveals a number of trends that complicate the process of constructive dialogue with Russia. The expert concluded that we should strive to strengthen mutual trust on the basis of the principle of preservation of the constitutional and cultural identity of our country and of Russia's commitment to human values protection.
