The Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS) received the status of a Federal State Budgetary Institution. The corresponding presidential decree was published on Monday on the official portal of legal information.
“Rename the Federal State Scientific Budgetary Institution ‘Russian Institute for Strategic Studies’ to the Federal State Budgetary Institution ‘Russian Institute for Strategic Studies’,” the decree reads.
The presidential decree also approves the new Charter of RISS. “The main purpose of the Institute is to provide information and analytical support to federal state bodies in the formation of strategic directions of state policy in the field of national security of the Russian Federation,” the decree officially reads.
“The Institute carries out... the following activities: ...gathering, systematization, and expert-analytical processing of information, the formation of a reference and information archive on this basis; …preparation of information and analytical reviews that predict trends in the development of international, military-political, and socio-economic relations,” the Charter states.
