The President of Russia signed a decree appointing Mikhail Fradkov Director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS). The corresponding presidential decree was published on Wednesday on the official portal of legal information.
“Appoint Mikhail Yefimovich Fradkov Director of the federal state budgetary institution ‘Russian Institute for Strategic Studies’ by relieving him of his previous duties,” the decree reads.
The Russian Institute for Strategic Studies was established on February 29, 1992. In 2017, Mikhail Fradkov was appointed RISS Director.
In 2004-2007, Fradkov headed the Russian government. He was the head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service from 2007 to 2016.
