RISS Director received the Ambassador of Sudan in Moscow

RISS Director M. Fradkov on 20 July 2017 received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Sudan Nadir Babiker.

The meeting was also attended by Counselor of the Embassy of Sudan Ahmed M. Idris, Head of the Center for Research Coordination I. Borovkov, Assistant Director A. Dudar.

There was an exchange of views on the future of Russian-Sudanese relations in various areas, the political situation in the region and its impact on international security.

M. Fradkov noted the importance of the existing bilateral structures at various levels between our countries. RISS Director stressed that the development of scientific contacts with the Sudanese research centers will also contribute to a deeper dialogue on matters of mutual interest and areas of cooperation.

Nadir Babiker, in his turn, highly appreciated the role of the Russian-Sudanese intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, interaction of the political leadership of the two countries in the UN Security Council and other international organizations.

Meeting participants considered joint research work, taking into account relevant aspects of policy and scientific priorities of the parties, primarily in the regions of Africa and the Middle East.
