Biden's America — Country Divided

RISS expert Ilya Kravchenko analyzes the socio-economic and political trends in the U.S. In his opinion, American society is divided today. The traditional confrontation between Democrats and Republicans is intensifying, as well as contradictions within the parties and between the radical and moderate groups.

Value split is the greatest danger to the unity of American society. Tensions are likely to increase amid economic problems caused, inter alia, by the short-sighted sanctions policy of the Biden administration towards Russia.

  • Most Americans know very little about events on the ground in Ukraine. That is why they are gullible for anti-Russian propaganda and thus link domestic economic problems with Putin's policy.

  • Americans see strong strong political, racial and ethnic conflicts in the U.S. Democrats seek to shift blame for the societal conflicts by scapegoating D. Trump, but this political trick becomes less and less effective.

  • Political polarization in the U.S. is rising, as well as social tensions.
